About the Event

Originating in India over 5,000 years ago, Ayurveda is a system of healing that restores harmony to one's body, mind, and spirit. Translated as the Wisdom of Life, Ayurveda provides us with the pathway towards living life to its fullest potential. Relevant especially in this current climate of stress and disease exposure, the Ayurvedic lifestyle is one that builds the strength and resilience to withstand difficult challenges.

In our latest Intro to Ayurveda talk, Ayurvedic Health Counselor Intern Valerie Hwang will be introducing the principles of Ayurveda, with a special focus on the basic tenets of Ayurvedic psychology with regards to the mind-body connection.

  • What is Ayurveda?
  • The Cause of Disease
  • The 5 Elements and the 3 Doshas
  • The Mind-Body connection: How do our moods coincide with our digestion? How does metabolism have anything to do with personality?
  • Overview of Ayurvedic health counseling

Registration is FREE and all are welcome. Whether you're curious about what Ayurveda is, or want to deepen your understanding of the principles, this talk is for you!
